Hip, Knee and Ankle Physiotherapy

Lower limb injuries and pain can significantly affect walking, work, exercise and participation in sport.

We assess and manage a range of hip, knee, ankle and foot conditions, including sporting injuries, osteoarthritis, persistent pain and post operative rehabilitation.

Treatment focuses on identifying the activities that are currently difficult and progressively rebuilding the strength, movement and physical capacity required to return to them.

Depending on your presentation, this may include exercise rehabilitation, mobility work, strength training, pacing, graded exposure, load management and appropriate manual therapy.

Your rehabilitation plan is regularly reassessed and progressed according to your goals and response to treatment.

Hip, knee, ankle and foot problems can affect walking, work, exercise and sport. For many people, a graded program of strengthening, mobility and load management may be enough to restore function and a return to the activities they enjoy. However, in some cases pain, stiffness or a long-standing condition such as osteoarthritis makes progress more difficult, or recovery follows surgery. In these instances, a physiotherapist can provide an individualised program, with appropriate manual therapy where needed, to reduce pain, improve movement and progressively rebuild your physical capacity.
