Neck and Back Pain Physiotherapy

Our physiotherapists assess and treat neck and back pain, including complex and long-standing spinal conditions. Treatment is built around your individual presentation and goals, helping you develop the movement options, strength and confidence needed for everyday life.

Neck and Back Pain

Our physiotherapists are trained in the assessment and treatment of spinal pain and related conditions.

Depending on your presentation, treatment may include exercise rehabilitation, pacing, graded exposure, movement and motor control strategies, ergonomic advice, postural education, taping, dry needling and manual therapy techniques such as mobilisation, manipulation or traction where clinically appropriate.

Our approach is not based on finding a single perfect posture or movement. Instead, we aim to understand your individual presentation and help you develop the movement options, strength and confidence required for everyday life.
We regularly see people with complex spinal conditions associated with trauma, surgery, medical conditions and persistent pain.

Where spinal pain has been present for a long time, a more detailed persistent pain assessment may be appropriate to understand the history of the condition, previous treatment, current limitations and other factors influencing recovery.

From there, we develop an individual treatment plan based around your goals and the activities you want to return to.

Neck and back pain is very common, and for many people a program of exercise, education and movement strategies is enough to restore comfortable movement and a return to normal activity. However, in some cases pain has been present for a long time, or is linked to trauma, surgery or other medical conditions, and the recovery is more complex. In these instances, a physiotherapist can complete a more detailed assessment and provide a tailored combination of exercise, hands-on techniques and guidance to improve movement, reduce pain and build the confidence to return to the activities that matter to you.
